We wanted to include Paris and a river cruise for our 50th wedding anniversary. Avalon gave us a great deal on the air fare. I don't think we needed the travel insurance because our credit card would have covered most of it. Except for the struggle to get through the Paris airport, everything was fabulous. In Paris we took a bus tour, a walking tour, and walked around a bit. The Eiffel Tower was fun, but we didn't have enough time to enjoy the Louvre. The ship, the cabin, the dining, the entertainment, and the service was first class. The local guides made each stop at each river town so very meaningful. We enjoyed meeting the other passengers, especially in the evening with music and dancing. The director and his staff did a great job. The cruise down the Moselle and Rhine rivers was very relaxing. We visited beautiful churches and quaint villages. We saw many castles and vineyards. We especially enjoyed the visit to the Cologne Cathedral and the Windmill Village in Holland. We applaud Avalon and highly recommend this trip.
