Compared to other cruises we have been on the Eclipse is a more understated line. With its generally white background it lacks the flashiness of other cruise liners we have been on. And for us this is a good thing thing. These is definitely the antithesis of Carnival and Royal Caribbean. This ship is meant for and older crowd. Dominated by fun loving baby booomers who value both a fair amount of activities on board as well as to call it an evening by 11:00 Am. Entertainment was better than expected, although the cast performances were hit or miss. Guest entertainers were very original and very funny. And just about every performance was well attended. I would rate food quality a little higher than that of the Princess ships we have been on. The guest are great. We sat at a table of ten and everyone gone along well fabulously. For those interested in the gym facilities, this ship has everything you could want. Casino was average for most cruise ships. Every passenger and crew member was polite, courteous, and respect, friendly, and respectful. . We were so happy with this cruise that we booked another one on board for next year to Australia. Princess seems to give a few more perks than Celebrity but the the overall experience was slightly better. My only criticism is that they had a smoking area that was situated very close to the walking track. This made absolutely no sense tome. But in general this was one of the most smoke free cruise ships we have been on and truly enhanced the experience.
Average cabin. Small but serviceable balcony. Considered obstructed view but life boats were below us and did not bluck view as long as you were looking straight out into the ater. Comfortble bed and very good location. No noise.
