I just got off my very “FIRST” Disney cruise today on the Disney Dream. (Sailing Dates 1/19-1/22). I have been on over 50 cruises with Princess Cruises, which is a cruise line I have forever been very loyal with. My friend wanted to have a girl’s weekend trip, as she is a big Disney fanatic, and has sailed with Disney prior. I agreed to do a Disney cruise, as we both love cruising, and I have read in numerous places how Disney was top notch as equated to a luxury like line. I have been to Disney World many times, and have stayed at one of the resorts before. This leading to I had high expectations of a high-quality cruise. However, this was the WORST cruise experience I have ever experienced.

First off, the website, is the worst out all cruise lines to navigate and find anything, especially when looking for things within your reservation. Poorly done is an understatement. When entering the ship, the ships decor is lovely and refined, and I loved the mini personalization of the announcements of the guest name / family while entering the ship. That’s a very nice touch. As is the subtle dinesney music playing throughout the ship. The animated pictures on the wall were unique and spectacular, leaving you with that magical Disney feel.

My main issues that lead to great disappointment were the following: A good part of the crew were some of the rudest crewed who were not well-mannered. Nobody says hi, at all to you, giving a passenger a very unwelcomed, cold feel. A cruise is where you go and make into your home for a few days. This did not feel like home at all! One of the assistant cruise directors apart of the entertainment team definably stuck out. I was running in the Castaway Cay 5k. When I went down to the runners meet up spot in Evolution, there was a girl working there, when I asked her a simple question, gave me a nasty dirty look and rolled her eyes at me, and grunted at me instead of answering my question politely. That was totally unnecessary. I know it was early in the morning, but I am sorry this is your job, and you but your personal things off to the side. Terrible customer service. On several occasions I had many crew in shops and up in cabanas completely ignore me like I didn’t exist when I would stop to ask them something. Instead they pushed me off the side and walk into me as they walk away. This all seemed very un-Disney like. The y also would get super annoyed with you if you were not purchasing anything. I experience that both at the shops onboard and at Vanellopes sweet shop. I was given massive eye rolls on that, and they immediately stopped talking to me and quickly walked away from you a cold feeling, like you were no longer of any importance. Don’t worry I made sure after those gestures to NOT buy any ice ream or things from the shop just based on principal. That’s is not how you treat others, let alone a passenger.
