I chose this cruise to spend time and reconnect with one of my high school friends. It has been more than 3 decades since we graduated. We had a balcony room which was adequate. The dining room food was excellent the one night that we went. We went on a shore excursion which was ok. We made the best of our cruise and had a great time with each other however, I remember a time when the staff was all smiles and over the top about helping you. I remember a time when you called maintenance and they actually came. I remember a time when there was food almost around the clock. I remember a time when the desserts were amazing and there was actually a dedicated dessert night. I took a break from Carnival to try out some other cruise lines which were great and decided to come back and give carnival another try. Unfortunately, Carnival paled in comparison. I have a cruise booked for my daughter's 16th birthday but am considering canceling and rebooking with another line. One of the great things that Carnival did was promote "Cookie" the cruise director and he was amazing.
