I traveled on this cruise with my legally blind (visually impaired) and physically disabled sister. It was her only bucket list item, and she's wanted to cruise for years. I was concerned about her "getting her bearings" when I didn't have mine yet and was concerned about how I would handle luggage for both of us and how I would handle getting her through the check-in/boarding process and disembarking process. Let me tell you ... Norwegian Sun staff (Julia in particular) made it so smooth. On embarkation day, were taken to a small waiting room, which was so much better for her than being in a crowd. Then they boarded her in a wheel chair. We were introduced onboard to Julia, who was our special needs contact. She took us on a private tour of the ship. Then my sister was given a 1-on-1 safety drill, which was extremely helpful and again so much better than maneuvering her through a crowd. Two of our specialty dinner nights were in Le Bistro where, when each server learned of her visual impairment, they cut her meat for her very discreetly as they chatted to her and made it completely comfortable.

I can't say enough about how much care they took of us and how welcome they made us feel. Thanks so much, Norwegian Sun Staff!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Location was great! Elevators were close, but not too close.

Only complaint--We had our beds split into twins, which made it so that we could only barely get our legs between the bed closest to the door and the desk. It was a tight and awkward squeeze. Otherwise, the cabin was just fine.

Port Reviews

Miami

Stayed in the Pullman Hotel the night before. Bring your own food...it cost us $17 to split a wrap and a few fries. However, its a free shuttle to the hotel. We took a taxi for $25 for both of us to the port.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We just shopped this day. No great shakes.

St. Lucia

We hopped a taxi with a couple from another cruise ship and toured for 2 hours for $25 each. It was affordable and gave us what we wanted.

Martinique

We took a walk to the Covered Market where you could buy trinkets, fruits, vegetables, and best of all ... fresh spices. There were also restaurants there. It was great to immerse ourselves in the culture and the local people who mostly spoke only French or very little English. It was a bit difficult for my sister to maneuver the narrow and rough sidewalks with her walker, but together we got it done and thoroughly enjoyed it.
