I chose this cruise primarily to upgrade my Crown and Anchor points and also because the original itinerary had me visiting two ports that I have never visited in the past. Itinerary got changed due to scheduled ship maintenance, so we ended up with 4 full days at sea and two days in port at Nassau. Love Nassau, so that's wasn't an issue. 4 full days at sea got to be pretty boring with the same old entertainment venues. Also the weather was not good the last day at sea so some of the outside deck areas were closed, forcing everyone inside. Royal needs to be able to step outside of the normal routine and be able to lineup alternative entertainment in these instances. Even if it's as simple as offering free pay per view movies. TV selection was the worst I have seen and more than half the stations were in Spanish or ship specific related only choices. Same food every meal, every day in the Windjammer, there used to be a few "theme" days, not on this cruise.
As an Emerald Crown and Anchor member, I was supposed to get a robe and free gift on my first day. I had to ask for the robe 3 times and never received my free gift, it was like my loyalty to RC wasn't even noticed. I choose to sail on a specific line primarily for the adder perks it gives me - not this time.
This was my first time on the Liberty of the Seas, it's a nice ship, clean! Only complaints is being able to hear running on deck above Chops Grill - hmmmm, maybe the position of the specialty restaurants should not be just below the Adventure Ocean or Sports deck?!
I had an interior cabin overlooking the Promenade. Liked the view, wasn't as "soundproof" as I was hoping and the 70's party went on and on and on. If rooms aren't fully sound proof, then entertainment needs to be scheduled earlier in the evening so the "early to bed" cruisers can get to sleep. But overall it was a nice cabin.
