This was our second cruise to Alaska, the first was with Princess 10 years ago. We enjoyed our first cruise so much we were anxious to make a return visit, and this cruise did not disappoint. Embarkation was a breeze and clearly the best experience we've had from our previous cruises. The ship had also recently been refurbished so it had a fresh and new look to it. Every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and courteous so it made the cruise even more enjoyable. As with most Alaska cruises, the weather wasn't sunny and warm, even though it was still July, but I guess you don't necessarily take a cruise to Alaska for the weather.

We always like to have a balcony when we cruise, so we chose a Mini-Suite with balcony near the front of the ship. Our cabin was just below the Mandara Spa so we took advantage of a special reduced price on the Thermal Suites and enjoyed every minute we spent there during the cruise. We also chose the Unlimited Beverage Package (UBP) and Internet Package as the two free offers with our booking. We made good use of the UBP but the Internet Package didn't pan out to be of much use to us.

We didn't eat in any of the specialty restaurants, but sampled the food in most of the other dining venues - the Garden Café, Lotus Garden, O'Sheehan's, and the Indigo and Summer Palace main dining rooms. The food was always fresh and appealing and, depending on what you selected, ranged from very good to excellent. The Garden Café and Lotus Garden could get a bit crowded at times, but we never had a problem finding a table in O'Sheehan's or either of the two dining rooms.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Our cabin was perfect for the two of us. It was always clean and our cabin steward did an excellent job of getting it made up while we were out. Although the weather on an Alaska cruise isn't always nice enough for a lot of balcony use, it was nice to have a private vantage point for viewing the glaciers while in Glacier Bay, which also happened to be the nicest day of the cruise

Seattle

We drove to Seattle from South Dakota so parked our car in the parking complex across from the Terminal. Access to and from the Terminal was a breeze and the parking rate was reasonable.
