Suggested by our travel agent for virgin cruisers, rather than taking a shorter/longer cruise out of Fremantle ( due to the waters being a little rougher ). From arriving at the terminal at Sydney to disembarking, the whole exercise was extremely efficient. We arrived a little earlier than planned for our arranged check in time but , no problem, drop your bag and go right ahead! From bag drop to walking on the boat took approximately 20 minutes, whilst there were plenty of people to process, there were staff everywhere to guide, assist and process. There were happy, smiling faces everywhere ( fake or not ), all staff being willing and able to guide wandering ( read - "lost") passengers to cabins and wherever.
Whist at sea there were plenty of trivia quizzes, arts and craft sessions and other things to keep you occupied. The musical shows by the Carnival team were good, but were never going to be of West End/Broadway quality, but all that being said, they were enjoyable. The external acts, magician, comedians, etc..., were all of good quality, but like most things is dependant on your individual taste. One comment made by other cruisers was that some of the other cruise liners that they had been with had "more activities" and were "busier" and they found the Carnival Legend to be quieter than others.
The service on board was very good, whether you were on the upper decks at the self serve counters or at Truffles Resturant, whether it was breakfast or dinner, it made no difference, it was all very good. Food quality was good to very good as well.
Cabin was beatifully maintained and in good condition throughout the cruise.
