This was my first ever cruise so I didn't know what to expect. The check-in process was trouble-free and the ship was in immaculate condition.

I was in Aqua Class on Deck 11. My cabin was a nice size with a comfortable bathroom and it was kept spotlessly clean throughout the trip by my ever attentive stateroom attendant. I had breakfast and dinner at the Aqua Class restaurant, Blu, and I have to say it was the highlight of the trip. Blu was outstanding, the food and service were fantastic. I just wish it was open for lunch as well. For lunch, I dined at the Grand Epernay Main Dining Room. The food there was also very good but they could have used a few more sommeliers as sometimes I was left without a drink for the whole meal and the ordinary waiters wouldn't take drink orders. The food at the buffet, Oceanview Cafe, was also very good but I didn't like the push and shove and it was often difficult getting a table up there.

We had four sea days in total and there was always something interesting to do. I enjoyed the Hot Glass Show, I saw a couple of good movies and a couple of good shows in the main theatre. There were also some interesting talks on offer but they had terrible descriptions in the daily bulletin so I never really knew what they were about before attending.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 2

Cabin A2

Good size cabin with a nice large bathroom and a good shower rose. The balcony was excellent not too big or too small. There were three power outlets - 2 US and 1 EU. The cabin was very quiet while still being handy to the upper decks and the lift lobby.

Port Reviews

Isle of Pines (New Caledonia)

I went for a swim at a beautiful beach just 500m from where the tenders docked. Not much to do other than swimming but that was good enough for me.

Lifou

The locals were charging people to go swimming here so I didn't go in. I went for a walk up the hill to Our Lady of Lourdes and then down to St Francis Xavier's - not much to see at either location. Friends who went snorkelling said that it was fantastic so perhaps it's worth the $15US if you're keen on swimming.
