Cabin: Suite with French Balcony

Our first river cruise, "Delightful Danube", selected to accommodate an itinerary including other nearby sites and tours. We agonized over a number of offerings from other lines and feel we made a spectacular choice. While a little more expensive than competitors, due to the 'all inclusive' Uniworld policy, the value was well worth the expense. From the moment we arrived (an easy embarkation process, with bags previously delivered to our suite) our 'butler' knew our names and requested any special needs. Each day, following housekeeping tasks, the daily announcements of weather, activities and US news highlights were left along with some 'treats'. Staff members at the lounge quickly learned everyone's particular favorites, delivered in a professional and very pleasant and personal manner. Our cabin was generous, clean and comfortable. Each night a delightful new menu and a detailed explanation by the sommelier of the selected wine parings. Breakfast and luncheon buffets were imaginative and delicious. Entertainment was enjoyable, jazz singer with piano accompaniment, a classical solo piano playing regional standards and other events. For the money, the professional and personal attention, elegance of the ship and the interesting itinerary, created a formidable experience from a cruise line with which will be sure to rebook.

Cabin Review

Suite with French Balcony

Cabin S

Room was inviting and comfortable. The balcony ran almost the length of the room. Bathroom, while small, accommodated one easily. Bed comfortable. Enough room to navigate about all the furniture without problem. Plenty of room in closet and drawers.

Port Reviews

Regensburg

Had most of the day to explore Regensburg. The short guided tour allowed us time following to wander and shop. The primary attractions were St Peter cathedral and the Abby.

Nuremberg

Short but educational bus tour of the salient sites in Nuremberg before embarkation. Sites were primarily of historical value explaining the city's importance b/4 and after WWII. Also, stopped to view the walled city. As mentioned, educational but would have liked more time to explore the walled city.

Passau

Charming walk around the peninsula of Passau where the Danube, Inn and Liz rivers converge. Another striking cathedral, St Stephan's.
