Cabin: Large Ocean View Stateroom

This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. We chose this cruise because of the 12 day itinerary, with ports in Canada and New England, in hopes of seeing beautiful fall foliage. RCCL didn't disappoint but "mother nature" didn't cooperate with the weather in Canada or with the fall foliage. In some ports the foliage was done and in some it hadn't started. The fall colors in Bar Harbor, ME were beautiful. It was still a wonderful cruise.

We spent 3 days pre-cruise in Quebec and I fell in love with that beautiful city, despite the cold and rain. Of course, the sun came out to warm us up the day we embarked on the VOS. Embarkation was smooth and quick - 1-1/2 hrs from check out at Hotel Clarendon to our stateroom 3620.

Our cabin was the same as on other ships - small, but efficient. The bathroom had been updated but the cabin was very outdated and could use a makeover. The bed was hard but got a little better after we got a mattress topper. There was ample room in the closet, but it lacked shelving. It was clean and our Room Attendant, Inyoman, did an excellent job of taking care of our room. One complaint I have is that the windows (on the outside) weren't cleaned and it was hard to see out.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F

Cabin 3620 is a large ocean view cabin on the 3rd floor, aft. It was in a good location - close to the stairs and elevators,Centrum and dining room. It was quiet - we never heard our neighbors or doors slamming as I have on other cruise lines. The bed was hard and the cabin needed updating, but it met our needs.

Port Reviews

Rockland

Nothing to do in this port. Town is small, but welcoming. There weren't many shops for buying souvenirs or browsing. We ate lunch at Hill's and I recommend the lobster rolls. Shops and restaurants had already closed for the season.
