We really enjoyed our costa cruise out of Barcelona 2 years prior to this one but this was a big disappointment. It started with the company charging us $100.00 just to put our friends names on the tickets that we bought, the travel company put our names on both cabins but no information was even entered. Anyway, they charged for everything right down to ping pong balls to play a game. We bought the drink package, but it took forever to get a drink, bartenders played games with the guests, ignoring them while cleaning up the bar, I guess they were looking for more tips. The staff was friendly but there wasn't much motivation to work since they already had their tips paid. Food was good and our waiter was excellent in the evening for dinner but the breakfast and lunch was miserable! It took forever to be served and the choices were very limited.

We have been on many cruises and we enjoy it a lot but never again on Costa. We aren't that picky or demanding but this was very disappointing from previous cruises. There wasn't much in the way of entertainment, no trivia, or sports events.

The room was kept at 75 degrees, so at night it was too warm so we had to keep the door open. My husband keep asking for them to check on the air conditioning but they said that was the lowest it would go down to. We had a mini suite so it was a good size and we were able to board earlier then everyone else, thank goodness because the lines were SO long to board. They said 2 hours to get our luggage but it turned into 5. I had a tray of drinks spilt on me and nothing to change into for 4 hours, quite a sticky wet four hours to wait.

Bari

We took a cab to sightsee around the area. It is a very interesting city. I think next time we would just walk around, there is quite a bit to see and only a few hours.

Athens (Piraeus)

Great place to visit once. We went outside and bartered with a cab to take us around, still so much cheaper then the cruise excursions and only 4 of us instead of a huge bus load. The sites were very crowded with all the cruise ships in town. We saw quite a bit since we had a cab to ourselves and he took us to do whatever we wanted. He even knew of a great place for baklava!

Katakolon (Olympia)

We took the little train around town and stayed on the beach. We didn't go to olympia since there just wasn't much time. We enjoyed the afternoon with drinks on the beach and relaxing- the weather was great.

Corfu

We took the hop on hop off bus and toured the island. We stopped and had drinks at a resort/restaurant and had the place to ourselves on the beach. We then toured the "castle" and our friends went to the beach. It is a great place and I would love to go back and spend more time.

Dubrovnik

Loved it here! Beautiful and interesting place. We again just took a cab to see the sights and it was cheaper then a tour. The cab driver was great, it was a flat fee and he took us around to see all the highlights and dropped us in the old town to do some sightseeing. There just wasn't enough time there- great city!

Venice

We started in Venice and spent several days touring. We took a water taxi to the ship and that was probably a huge highlight for us, we went through the back canals and it was just so picturesque
