It is our homeport so it was natural to choose RCCL. We were suppose to travel with family from New York, but an injury two days before sailing left them at home. But we went ahead and traveled and so glad we did! The ship is large and has a lot to do...or not...it's really up to the client. The kids' water park was unbelievable....they should schedule an adult time for this feature! We had such a good time and would sail on the Liberty again for sure! The staff is GREAT! The porters helping with luggage for embarkation and disembarkation work their butts off! Entertainment was very good. We loved the RCCL band and really enjoyed Mark Preston's presentation. The Ice Show was the best on the ship - we couldn't believe the talent of this group! We liked Saturday Night Fever and the main singer (aka Tony) was really great, and the dancing was so much fun to watch. We would do it again!
We choose a PR because we were interested in experiencing the view of the promenade. We enjoyed our "tiny cabin" and would book another PR in the future! We liked seeing the parade from our window and had a great time. Loved the location of the cabin!
Galveston is historic and the beach! I would arrive a day or two early and see the sights.
Our own fault for cancelling our port excursion, but with that said, once you go thru the shops at the port, there's not much to do unless you take an excursion. We wished we hadn't cancelled our beach excursion...
We liked Costa Maya a lot. Sure there are vendors everywhere, but once you say "no", they leave you alone. We sat on the beach and had a margarita and it was lovely. We shopped a bit and enjoyed our experience with the shop owners.
