This was my retirement celebration cruise after 31 years of teaching teenagers. It was great. The ship, although slightly tired looking and well loved in some places, was clean and welcoming. The crew was eager to help and please. Our stateroom attendant did his job effectively awarding us each evening with a towel animal and a spotless cabin.

The food was superior to other cruises we have taken. The Windjammer offerings at dinner kept us from keeping our 6:00 dinner commitment in the dining room. Although we did eat in the dining room a few of the 9 nights, we felt the food was better in the Windjammer. This was a surprise to us as we have always found the opposite to be the case. On the last evening, there was an impressive offering of fresh fish and seafood including clams, mussels, crab, squid and crab. It was amazing and fresh.

The entertainment was pleasant but lacked the glitz of the offerings on the larger ships.
