Nordnorge Review

Some highlights, some disappointments. I'd do it differently next time.

Sail Date: Sep 2017

I did the Northbound Voyage from Bergen all the way to Kirkenes with my mom in Fall 2017. This was my first cruise experience.

I'll start with the good parts.

Good Thing #1 -- The boat's facilities (ours was the MS Nordnorge) were pretty nice. Recently renovated, everything was clean and in good working shape. I most enjoyed the two jacuzzis and the lounges on the top deck. Our cabin was small but functional, but we really only slept and showered in there. Traveling with my mother necessitated separate beds, and so our only option was the Polar Inner Cabin which I think is the tiniest, cheapest class of cabins and they are about the size of a large closet and somehow has 3 fold out beds inside, with two of the beds bunked on the left. At first it was a surprise and a disappointment, but we managed to make work over the next 6 days at sea -- not really a bother in the end.
