Freedom of the Sea offers a great cruise experience. Whilst the ship is a little big for us I found that there was something for everyone. Staff were friendly and facilities were very good.

Enjoyed the bars especially the Olive or Twist which was great for sailaways (and surprisingly quiet).

Bought the drinks package on the ship (should have before) as the prices are outrageous. We enjoy a gin or two before meals and wine with a meal. My wife drinks copious sparkling water too. I noticed the some people just drank table water with meals!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

Great large cabin. Easy access to the main floors (5 & 11) without need to wait for a lift.Only used the lift when accessing the ship for dis-embarkation.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Amazing city with a good vibe. Well worth three nights pre-cruise. Did a great tour with Barcelona Day Tours

Toulon

We were in Toulon on a Monday. It was closed. Walked around for a couple of hours and had a coffee with all the retired Arab gentleman.

Folk we met went on an excellent Provence Wine Tour which they raved about.

Villefranche

Lovely little seaside town accessed by tender. You could spend a day on the beach here. Great small seaside restaurants. We easily took a train to Monaco and got the Hop on Hop Off Tour. See how the other folk live!

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

We went to the Cinque Terre as been to Florence many times before. The train station is about 20 minutes walk through a nice town (walk along the sea shore to the marina then turn right and walk through a really nice town). The train station is a bun fight for tickets. Can you buy the ticket online as in the UK?? The Cinque Terre villages are amazing. Planning a weekend away here via Pisa Airport and easy train links.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Booked a tour through Cant Be Missed Tours. Great tour with two other couples although we shared a guide with another six in Rome. Patrick the driver and Valentine the guide. Ticked all the boxes and short queues. Excellent. Ask for these guys for yours.

Naples

I arranged a tour through Cruise Critic and was joined on a tour with Joe Bananas Limos Italy Tour Sharing. Six of us had a driver/guide and went to Positano, Sorrento, Pompei and added a nice vineyard for lunck. Only 80 euro plus lunch. So easy to arrange through this great company.
