This was our first cruise with children and therefore our first with Carnival, we usually go for more upmarket ships but had reset our expectations for this cruise. Overall it was a good holiday and the kids had a good time, but the age of the ship and cost cutting, especially in food, took the edge of the experience.
Overall the public areas of the ship are much better than expected; I was concerned that the interior had been described as garish but in fact is pretty nice with a consistent colour palette if brown, orange and gold. The public rooms are in good condition and the MDR is really very pleasant.
The cabins have a good layout and pleasant fit out, but are worn everywhere - the carpet is stained, the woodwork scratched, it just needs to be renovated soon.
Ocean Quad suite - plenty of room for four with the bunk bed over the sofa. The room decor is pleasant and that bathroom and dressing room sizeable. However, the room is worn with numerous things broken (cupboard doors, lights) and really needs a full refurb. The balcony is a disappointment because although large, it is covered in paint that is peeling off the ship and the chairs all have paint splatters.
