My friend and I chose this cruise from The River Cruise Line as it went up the Danube to Vienna, Bucharest, Bratislava and other smaller places. It was our first cruise and we weren't sure what to expect. We needn't have worried. The coach took us to Passau where we joined ms Serenity. Embarkation and disembarkation at the various stopping places went very easily. The ship was very clean and well maintained. Our cabin was small though we didn't feel claustrophobic and was very comfortable. The crew were marvellous and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and there was plenty of it. We had a quiz night which was hilarious and a show by the crew which again was very funny.
The excursions were well managed though we did find the constant amount of information the guides gave us became information overload.
Everyone on board - all adults no children - were very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere.
The cabin was very clean and had two small settees and enough wardrobe and drawer space for us both. The two beds pulled down over the settees and were very comfortable. There was a television, a hairdryer and the bathroom had the usual toilet bath and shower. All very clean. The only downside which really wasn't much was that we seemed to be over the engines in the middle of the boat and when we slowed down to go through the locks (27) we had a lot of juddering as the boat got itself into place to go through the lock. After a couple of nights we didn't really notice it anymore. The cleaning staff were very efficient and the room always looked spotless - except when we were in it!!!
