We chose this cruise because we have wanted to visit St Petersburg, and we had sailed before on Azamara and have always been highly satisfied.
Because we wanted to see as much as we could with as little hassle as possible, I found out that Azamara has a private tour section. We worked with Zsofia Sarkadi and she provided us with a 3 day tour. It was a fantastic experience.
The tour company that Azamara use was first rate. Our guide, Ludmilla Stepanov was as good as they come. She is an English teacher so language was no problem. During the tour, our driver would drop us near the entrance and when we finished that tour, he was always right there.
Response from BonnieM, CBO - Azamara Club Cruises
Very nice room, with a veranda. Our cabin attendants did a great job at keeping the room in tip top shape.
As with most cruise ships, the shower was small, but you got used to it
Vasa museum is a must. Old town was a nice place to stroll
Since we docked right in town, the churches were very close to tour, and the outdoor market was right in front of the ship.
At the Lutheran Church we found a noon organ recital on their wonderful pipe organ, and then as we wandered the streets, we found a bandstand with the local Rotary Club orchestra playing an afternoon concert.
Fun town
A short bus ride (provided) from the dock to the old town area. Once there, it is very interesting to climb to the top of the town and view the church there, then make your way through the shops and restaurants down the hill.
A very good pizza and local beer
Did not go to Berlin, just enjoyed the village of Warnemunde.
Again because we parked in so close, we were able to walk along the water past the Little Mermaid, palace, and into town center.
Took a canal tour which was very good.
Again we docked right in town so it was easy to walk and view the shops and restaurants.
When the ship was sailing, the local high school marching band came out for a send off. This was a very nice touch.
