A Scenic representative met us at the airport and led us to the van which then transported us from the airport to the ship. Upon arrival at the Scenic Crystal we were given a warm greeting from the crew. Check-in was very quick and simple. We were led to our room and shown how everything worked. Our luggage was delivered to our room very promptly.

We attended a mandatory "Ship & Safety Briefing" before dinner the first evening. At the briefing we met the ships Captain - Plamen, the Hotel Manager - Ivan and the Cruise Director - Szilvia. These three individuals are extremely competent and professional. Szilvia gave a briefing every day, before dinner, called "Port Talk". These briefings updated the passengers on the next days activities and logistics. I will say that all 50 crew members on our ship were excellent. They went out of their way to make sure that all your needs were met.

Butler - Each room has a Butler. The Butler is there to provide service to you. Depending on your room level, they will perform tasks such as coffee and tea service and breakfast service in your room. Ironing two items of clothing/person/day. These Butlers have many other jobs to perform and aren't at your beck and call. If you need something they provide you with their telephone number, so give them a call and they will do their best to accommodate your request.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Balcony Suite

Our room was located on the top floor of the ship. Room 311 is located about the middle of the ship. It was a very good location. The room was about the size of a small master bedroom. It is designed efficiently There was a closet on the wall right inside the door. Ample storage with plenty of space for hanging up your clothes, one drawer and shelves. The safe and Mini - Fridge are in the closet. The Mini - Fridge is stocked daily. You can tell your room steward what items you want in the fridge and they will customize it for you. The bed was queen size and very comfortable. They have a pillow menu so you can choose whatever pillows suit your needs. There is a night stand on each side of the bed. One has a couple of drawers for storage. The suitcases slide under the bed so they aren't taking up the limited floor space. There is a small desk and chair on the wall opposite the bed. It has two shelves above it. The TV is on the same wall as the desk. It has a menu that displays the daily schedule, weather report, ships location, television stations, movies (a very good selection) and other information. There are electrical outlets on both sides of the bed and by the desk. There is also one in the bathroom. The bathroom is small. One person fills it up. It has a single sink with limted counter space, a toilet and the shower. The shower is small but functional. The balcony is narrow but it provides another area to use. It has a sliding door that provides access to the balcony from the room. There is a power window that drops down to open the balcony to the outside. We used the balcony quite frequently, mostly in the early morning or before dinner.
