We liked the size of the SIlver Cloud and 3 nights in St.Petersburg. The overall itinerary was fabulous and we had beautiful weather. We were somewhat hesitant about the Cloud after reading so many reviews about how run down the ship is and this being its last cruise before becoming an expedition ship. We were so thrilled to find the ship in great shape. Perhaps the color scheme is a bit dated but we never saw the wear and tear that is discussed in other reviews. The air conditioner in our room was not working but they immediately came and replaced the controller and it was perfect thereafter.
The service was excellent with many crew members learning our names the first day. Learning names just makes the cruise become personal and indicates how much the crew cares about their passengers.
Food was very good, especially the fresh fish options. They did tend to run out of certain kinds of wine and food items but that may have been just because they didn't want to do huge restocking since it was going out of service. It would be nice to have fresh foods from each port and some menu options reflective of the region.
Good size, lots of storage. Bed faced backwards if that is an issue. Bathroom and shower are a good size. Walk-in closet is perfect.
