One of the few Glacier Bay cruises this year for Carnival Legend. Flew in the day before and stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites by Seatac since we got in late. Used Seattle Express for the transfer the next day. Embark was among the easiest we have done. Debark the same. Had cabin 7176 (extended balcony).

This was all about the destination and Alaska lived up to the hype. Weather was a mix of rain and overcast almost the entire trip. Light rain all day in Juneau. We went whale watching and saw humpbacks, sea lions, harbour seals. Went gold panning in Skagway and played with puppies. Rainforest Sanctuary in Ketchikan. Glacier Bay was WOW.

Legend? We like to describe her as the offspring of two downtown Las Vegas casinos. The ship layout is almost ideal. The decor is . . . .well let's just say the designer should have had a drug test before submitting the design. Bonsai sushi is the exception. Clean, modern design. Looks great. Also looks like it has been dropped in a 70's era casino. The decor makes the ship looks dated and far older than 2002 when she was christened. Been on older ships that still look modern and beautiful.

Cabin Review

Extended Balcony

Cabin 8K

Basic cabin. No frills. But no major issues beyond the lack of electrical outlets. Took to unplugging the tv to be able to charge multiple items overnight. Extended balcony was used a lot, but then it was an Alaska cruise (why wouldn't you be on the balcony right?). Cruise was all about the destination not the ship.
