As far as cruise stops and excursions go, this cruise was awesome. However, there were multiple problems while on the ship. As far as food goes, the food at the dining room was great IF (and I repeat if) you chose the best option. However, if you weren't so lucky to pick the top 1-2 items, the rest of the options weren't very good at all. Also, the dining room wait staff weren't overly friendly and on numerous occasion forgot to refill water glasses or bring out drink orders. For the buffet in Horizon, the breakfast food was mediocre and didn't vary at all throughout the week. During the Pub Lunch, the staff very obviously rushed my group to try and turn tables. To start, the waitress stood there after handing us the menus and just stared at us until we were ready to order. Then our drinks came out several minutes after our soggy fish and chips came out (clearly had been sitting out for a while). They also served our group dessert before even clearing our lunch plates. For alcoholic beverages, 90% of the drinks from the bar menu used ship-wide weren't any good. I either had to order the same drink every time or make my way to Crooners to get a decent drink. Also, a 26 yr old in my group was refused a drink at Vista Lounge because she didn't carry around her photo ID. If we have a photo and personal information on our stateroom card, why do we have to have the inconvenience of carrying around a driver's license anytime we want a drink? I have been on multiple NCL and Royal Caribbean cruises without having that problem. Entertainment wasn't anything special. Singers/Performers were pretty good but the comedian was lousy. My inside room was about what I expected, but someone else in my group got a balcony room where the balcony smelled like sewage every day. When they complained, the staff simply said it was from our stop and Ketchikan and it would go away (but it didn't). Overall, I expected much more out of Princess considering it is supposed to have the reputation of being one of the better cruise lines. 6 years ago I did almost the exact same cruise but on Royal Caribbean and had a 1,000% better experience. My advice to anyone would be to pass on Princess unless it is a brand new ship or has some amazingly cheap deal. If it is normally priced or an older ship, I can safely say I will never choose Princess again over NCL or RC.

Interior

Cabin IF

Your typical cruise ship interior room. Small and relatively uncomfortable beds. Small bathroom and shower. There were scratches and dents on the walls and ceiling.
