Sail Date: Jul 2017
Cabin: Oceanview (obstructed view)

We have sailed on quite a few cruise lines and always come back to Princess. This was our first time on the Sun Princess, We had booked an obstructed view guaranteed cabin and we were allocated D605, More details later. We did anytime dining and loved everything about the restaurant, we mainly sat at a table for 2 which was our preference and didnt have one bad meal, we loved everything and if we didnt we just swapped it for another choice. Most nights we had several desserts because they are all so yummy. We went to every show after dinner and enjoyed most of them, some were really great and one or two not quite to our taste but it was entertaining. Due to noro virus outbreak on the ship many activities were cancelled so no captains circle cocktail party, sales etc. We didn't get sick. We had a small issue of a water leak in our ceiling which we reported and they acted straight away and couldnt have been more helpful, we recieved a beautiful floral arrangement. We always had breakfast delivered each morning and ate lunch from the international cafe which offers a great variety of savoury rolls, salads and sweet temptations. In the morning they also have the best donuts all for free. We ate dinner every night in the restaurant and couldnt fault it, the service was excellent. We really loved our cruise and embarkation and disembarkation was quick and easy.

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin OW

This cabin was on deck 8 and located three doors down from the casino. It was on a corner. We found this cabin really quiet except when people won big in the casino late at night (which didnt happen much) We also had food smells throughout the day/night which we couldnt quite work out were it was from, eg strong onion smell at 4am. Cabin had no room for a chair, just queen bed which was really great. small drawers on one side only and wardrobe small and tv/fridge cupboard. We found it really good, it was kept nice and clean, our bathroom was the usually tiny shower but it was big enough. We loved our holiday and found the staff so excellent and the food really good.

Port Reviews

Champagne Bay (Vanuatu)

Tender port, once ashore this is paradise the snorkelling was excellent and the beach literally bubbles as fresh water bubbles into the sea. Lots of local stalls. We swam for ages and then returned to the ship.

Port Vila

We caught the water taxi $5 each way, nice trip across the harbour. The esplanade has had a major construction update and it looks really great. We then did our duty free shopping as it is definately the cheapest place, afterwards had a lovely coffee and free wifi at the Jungle cafe (excellent food and coffee) before returning to the ship.

Mystery Island

We have visited here several times and each time found better and better snorkelling, This time of year we found the water chilly but the snorkelling was so beautiful hundreds of beautiful fish and colorful coral. We returned to the ship to warm up. This is another tender port which is always time consuming.
