Just back from 7 days with eleven family members onboard the beautiful Equinox. This marked my 29th cruise at age 52. Our group ranged in age from 11 to 79 so you will get a perspective from all angles. My boys are 18 and 21 so we have 50's, teens, and 70's covered lol. Here goes: Lengthy but I hope it helps.

Embarkation: We come from Pennsylvania and New Jersey and after driving and flights for some; I am glad to report that we were on the ship in 30 minutes. Arrived and parked at 11 and we also were in room by 1PM. Disembarkation is another story as we circled baggage claim like an airport and they lost my dear mom's bag. We waited 90 minutes with no success. Fortunately, they found her bag a few days later and are shipping it to her in NJ. My family of 4 have used self assist but being that we had to transport both parents to two airports, we had to check bags. Big mistake.

Service: We have cruised all the other lines and Celebrity is the best for service. Bar service was excellent as we all had the drink package. If you upgrade go to Zain at Sunset or go to Martini bar, they get the gratuity and you will see how great they are.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Been here so often, however I was not crazy where we docked. Havesink is so much nicer. We have been to Magens Bay and really love Coki but for a $4 cab ride Emerald beach is just fine. Water was clear, chairs are reasonable and they have facilities and sporting opportunities available. we rented a kayak for 25 dollars an hour.

St. Maarten

Bernards Tour for $45 is the way to go. This is the 2nd time we used them and it was 6 hours of entertainment. Orient beach was beautiful, we fed iguanas, shopped and went to bakery on french side, took beautiful pics; and last but not least I held the fence at Maho as a 737 took off. Intense, you better hold on. Mailman our tour guide was awesome.

San Juan

Was not crazy about the 3:30 PM port time so we ate dinner on ship and walked in Old San Juan for a few hours. Bad decision as there were some suspect characters out at night. Got my 18 year old a beer and ladies had some pina coladas. Nice port, been here way too many times.
