From the Captain to the steward who cleaned our cabin, the service was friendly and exceptional. The management team on board were always available, communicated extremely well, and could not do enough for the passengers. The 'hired hands', most of whom are working for a few months to earn money for college, were well trained, friendly and courteous, and always had a smile on their face. The overall service, from the start of the trip to disembarkation, was better than I have experienced on the big luxury cruise lines. I liked the idea of knowing the menu options at the start of the day as it enabled us to plan when we might want to eat off the ship so we could experience some of many restaurant choices on the islands. We had a couple of stormy days and the itinerary was adjusted so that we could visit Nantucket via a complimentary ferry ride. Well done ACL!
We enjoyed the happy hour with complimentary drinks and the evenings entertainment was fun. The ship provides a small library where you can borrow books, movies and games. Most afternoons there was a small group playing bridge in the lounge. The Wi-Fi is free but service was intermittent as you might expect when at sea. Our cabin was larger than expected, as was the bathroom. We slept well every night and appreciated the choice of pillow. Bathroom amenities were excellent. Our fellow cruisers, none of whom we knew before the cruise, were a delight to meet and there was more mingling than you will see on the big ships. The shipboard enrichment sessions by our guide were also exceptional.
