There was a large group of us who decided to go to Alaska in July, 2017. We choose the Jewel for two reason, price and drink package. Our travel agent worked with NCL and got us all in the same cabin areas. This was my second time on NCL - did the Pride of America in Hawaii in February 2016. The Jewel is a smaller ship but it never made you feel that way.

Food: the food was delicious! The Garden Cafe was always busy but there was plenty of seating and plenty of a variety of food. A few of us chose to eat at some of the specialty restaurants - Cagney’s - HIGHLY RECOMMEND, Le Bistro - was good, Maderno - very good, La Cucina, Italian was also very good. We ate several times in the main dining rooms for breakfast and a few dinners. Always great food and good service.

Cabin: Room 5530 – large ocean view window. Our room had plenty of storage places and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice, because it had three separate areas and plenty of room. It was located close to the elevators and you did not hear any noise from the hallway. The only issue that I had was our cabin steward was not the greatest. Our room was always kept up but he never gave us drinking glasses, filled our ice bucket with water, sometimes would forgot some of our towels. He would smile at us when we would see him, but I don’t think he understood English.

Victoria

We walked around on our own and saw the town in a few hours. Beautiful place with gorgeous flowers.
