First time on RC, we cruised with Disney on the Dream last year. Huge difference in ship size and scale, but both companies have stellar service. Employees that interact with customers are clearly trained well. My son is 14, he said the teenage scene on RC was better than the Disney boat. My daughter is 6, I think the smaller kid activities are better on a Disney, but the Allure Kid camp areas are still really good. The kids splash area and pool are better than the Disney Dream, but a big disappointment was no water slide. Actually it's hard to believe they built the worlds largest cruise ship and didn't put a water slide on it, especially considering the flow riders have a 52 inch height requirement, so little kids are out of luck. They clearly fixed that mistake with the Harmony, but the Allure went to dry dock for a refit in 2015, and still no water slides. The water slide, or lack there of is really the only issue we had with the ship.

The cruise went to Nassau first. I don't think I will ever get off a boat in Nassau again. You get literally mugged by locals wanting to take you somewhere or give you a tour. The area around the port is a mess. Atlantis is an option, but the cost is outrageous considering the amount of time you actually get to spend there. I would prefer to skip Nassau and send more time in other ports.

Second stop was St Thomas. It's fairly commercial, but still a beautiful island. We skipped a tour through RC, and rented a Jeep to make our own fun. It was a worthwhile experience, we hit red hook for lunch and spent the afternoon at Coki Beach swimming and snorkeling. We did some sight seeing on the way back to the ship, stopping at Magens Bay and driving up to Mountain Top, which is probably the best gift shop on the island.

Cabin Review

Family Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin FO

Cabin was interesting, front of the ship with an angled wall, which made the room larger than other rooms. Bunk beds for the kids were nice, plenty of closet space, and the shower surprisingly was big enough for me, I'm 6-8.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

If you only want to sun and swim, Magen Bay is better, but if you want to snorkel too go to Coki Beach.

St. Thomas

We rented a Jeep and found our own spots. Waze works on the Island too, making navigation very easy.
