Let me start by saying that some people must be born cranky. I was bracing myself for a potentially disappointing trip based on some of the previous reviews but I could not have been more pleased with the overall experience.
It's a fact, the Millenium is 17 years old, it's not a secret, you should know that before you go. The ship shows its age in places but no where that it counts. Ship decor, carpet, walls, walkways, etc., were modern, in great shape and were constantly being cleaned by very attentive staff. The lounges, casino and theatre were all beautifully decorated - I'm sure all benefited from the 2016 remodel.
One opinion I do share with most of the reviews here is that the crew is exceptionally well-trained in providing outstanding service. Shout outs to Hermin, our waiter in Qsine (hope he and his wife do open their dream restaurant in Bali some day), Leonard and Giselle in the Metropolitan dining room, John in Sushi on 5, and Terry in the Rendezvous lounge. Our stateroom attendant, Ambert, was outstanding, keeping our room neat throughout the day, quickly learning our daily schedule so that he was never a bother - in fact, most of the time we never saw him. He took care of our few special requests quickly and always with a smile on his face. Everyone politely greet men as "sir" and the ladies as "madam." We felt special throughout the ship.
Not much of a view from an inside stateroom but I was only there for the most part to sleep. Our attendant kept the room and bathroom in great shape at all times. Room temp was a little warm for our liking (even on the coolest temp at all times) but not to the point of making sleeping uncomfortable.
Got into Vancouver late the night before we embarked so didn't see much. City skyline looked beautiful from the ship as we left the port - it was a gorgeous day when we left.
