We have cruised with other cruise lines and wanted to experience NCL. The ship is huge but has organization issues. The main pool is a disaster. It is too small for a ship of this size. Lack of space for chairs around pool is ridiculous and can never be gotten unless you get to pool before 7 AM. The entertainment was below average and having a show that is not for everyone is not necessary for any cruise line, especially NCL. The smoking in the Casino is not acceptable and should be banned. We didn't pay for second hand smoke and dirty ash trays. Shopping on this ship lacked variety for adults and especially children. Dining was great and the food was outstanding. It seemed the ship staff was very uneasy and concerned about doing wrong. The use of the theater was disappointing and needs to be corrected. It seems to be empty more than in use. Shows in the Atrium could have been moved to the theater. Entertainment banning children of certain ages is not what you pay for and is not necessary. Need to get entertainment to please all ages and this means shows in the theater. Most people go on cruises to have equal to or better than what they get in their own home life. Many people around us complained about the same issues. It isn't making a ship bigger but making it better that is important with cruise lines. NCL needs to look at its competitors. We will have to do a great deal of research before consideration of another NCL cruise.

Cabin Review

Aft-facing Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

Room size was what we expected. The housekeeping was below average. We needed to leave request notes for supplies. Mirrors were never cleaned and it seems bare minimal was done throughout the trip. Towels not replaced daily. Found dirty band aid on carpet not ours. Never expected this from NCL as other cruise lines provided us better accommodations.

Port Reviews

Tortola

Not a great deal to do at port.

Nassau

Very busy and crowded. A lot to do but at times retailers are pushy.
