We have always wanted to take a Viking cruise and were able to do so with our relatives from San Diego. From the moment we arrived in Zurich we were in the efficient hands of Viking employees. Everything was handled with great care. I attribute that to our program director, Mathias Von Dort. He was like a camp counselor informing, directing, and accompanying us (the campers) through every part of our trip. The room, while not spacious, was perfect. The meals were wonderful. The tours were all we had hoped for, especially our optional excursion to the Swiss Alps.

Our tours where wonderful and expertly handled by local tour guides who had detailed information and amusing anecdotes for each setting. For those concerned about the amount of walking, there was always a "gentle" group that took speed and difficulty of the walking tours into consideration. Our program director ,Mathias, made sure that we were entertained in the evening with great dance and music games that allowed you to meet and interact with many of the other guests on the ship.

Above all, the crew was amazing! Whether the room stewards, the wait staff, the bartenders or the officers, everyone was cordial and friendly beyond belief. They also transitioned seamlessly between tasks on the ship which was evidenced by their ability to move our luggage when departing like a well-oiled machine.
