We wanted to try a river cruise and also wanted to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Our friends also wanted to try a river cruise and had a preference for the Rhine. We chose this particular cruise as it was the only one available, from Scenic, on a date that suited.
We chose to travel by rail and that went very smoothly- much preferable to air travel.
Disembarkation was also very well managed, even although the ship was unable to reach its planned final destination of Basel - great credit must go to Beate, our Cruise Director.
Cabin Review
The cabin was very comfortable and extremely well cleaned throughout our cruise. A comment on the washing facilities - the modern method of wash hand basins with no soap tray built in, is not at all successful, and it was also difficult to determine which way hot and cold was.
