My husband and two teenage daughters (14 and 17) took this cruise in April. Weather was perfect for sightseeing and lots of walking-about 3-5 miles a day between excursions and our own exploring of ports. Overall, the vacation was wonderful! We spent 2 days in Venice before the cruise and took the water taxi over to the terminal which was fun and efficient. The ship is a bit older, not a lot of bells and whistles which was fine for us. We did excursions at every port which were all great (expensive) and very well organized! The trip was a great introduction to Europe for our daughters. Not alot of time in each place but enough to get a flavor of the city/island. Two memorable excursions were swimming with the dolphins in Malta (bring a towel!) and off road in a Jeep in Ibiza-so fun! Staff on ship and excursions were very friendly and always willing to assist. Getting on and off the ship was easy, never had any long lines during entire trip.
The entertainment was a bit disappointing. If you're expecting Broadway level performance, this is not it! The Cruise line singers and dancers were just ok. A magician performed one night which again, was just ok. A few of the games organized by the cruise director were fun.
Cabins-we had 2 rooms, one with a balcony-with a pull out couch and lots of room and one inside room which was small but adequate. Our balcony was on deck 7 mid ship which was great. Some rooms are close to elevator and could hear the music playing late from central area below. Service was great in room but need to ask for shampoo and conditioner. A/C stopped working in cabin on day 2, attendant made a call and it was fixed in 15 minutes! Laundry service available-$40.00/bag. Food-we ate in the main dining room most nights-varied menu that changed nightly but had about 5 fixed choices. Food was very good, would not say exceptional. Three night we ate at specialty restaurants-steakhouse, Italian and sushi-all very good but overpriced. We ate at Windjammer-buffet for all breakfasts and some lunches-wide variety of food. My husband has celiac and all restaurants were WONDERFUL and so accommodating for him. He had many options and selected his dinners each night in advance to make sure it would be prepared properly.
