This is a delayed post as I wanted to process the details of our trip. This was our second cruise with NCL ( first one: Getaway Jan 15 Eastern Caribbean). My husband and I were looking forward to trying a smaller, older ship that was recently refurbished in the south Caribbean. We had such an amazing time on our first cruise that I had really high expectations for this one.

We were celebrating my husband's 40th and our 10 year anniversary. We did not have any kids traveling with us and consider ourselves to be active adults. We had a drink and burger/fries/fruit from Topsiders Bar and Grill in the pool area on our second day on the ship. That evening we both got violently sick. At first we thought it was something we ate on the island we had visit that day but after speaking to a few other passengers who got sick after eating at Topsiders Bar and Grill, we knew that must have been the cause. All we could do for the rest of the trip was lay in bed. The beds were super hard and uncomfortable. We cancelled all of our excursions and dinner reservations, and only ate at the buffet. We purchased the dinner package as we really enjoyed the specialty restaurants and the Sugar Cane Mojito bar on the Getaway. The ship also felt really small and quite crowded with long lines for any of the meals. The ships entertainment did not seem as entertaining as our previous cruise.

The positives: our room steward was amazing and the group from Cruise Critic. Our room steward did a great job cleaning our room and was always super friendly. He deserved a raise!
