At first we were concerned about taking AOS for our Southern Caribbean trip. Shortened overhaul period and some less than favorable reviews had us second guessing. I am very glad we did not change ships/itinerary. Ship was very clean and in excellent order. Renovations were mostly done. Some rooms have not been upgraded but 7 islands in 10 days.....my room was use to change & sleep. Ship and ports had us on the go so we didn't focus to much on the little stuff. I have had 13 cruises, 9 with Royal Caribbean. This was my third in this class of ship and find it to be the perfect fit. Not too big to get lost or discouraged. Not too small to get bored on. It handled well in some wave and wind. This was the first cruise I found that from bow to stern, food quality, service, show quality, and ship appearance, all were well above average (8's & 9's on a scale of 10) (rarely give out 10's). I might recommend skipping St. Thomas for an extra day at sea on this size ship. 6 island in 10 days is plenty. ABC islands were the best. Curacao for shopping, St. Lucia for Tropical paradise.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Clean, roomy with plenty of storage/closet space. Full size bathroom shower.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Departure/Arrival Port - Stayed in Local Hotel the day before to walk and enjoy the city.

Note: Fixed rate for taxi to port, $17 plus $1 per Luggage Bag, Gas Tax, port fee = approximately $28 one way for 4 people (6 bags)

St. Thomas

Tired of St. Thomas....same stuff.

Curacao

7 islands in 8 days....to tired to go on excursion. Walked the town and loved it. Best Shopping of all the S. Caribbean islands. The Dutch do it right! Great Fish and Vegetable open air market, Great straw markets and you can haggle with the prices a little.
