Did the round cruise Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen. Weather disappointing as we left and arrived back in Bergen. Further up coast the scenery was magnificent with the snow. Ship very comfortable with good clean cabins. Plenty of room to empty your entire suitcase and put things away. Crew very friendly and helpful. Food was exceptional, in quality and variety. Breakfast and lunch was buffet, extremely plentiful. Downside was evening meal. It was set dinner and by the time it was served it was barely warm. Waiters were great keeping their balance when the boat was rocking badly! Beware, excursions!! They are extremely overpriced, especially the walking tours, which you can easily find yourself as ship docks in centre of towns and towns are small. One walking tour was £45 for 45 minutes. Main public area was the Kompas Explorer Bar, but even though staff kept saying that the best seats shouldn't be reserved, the Germans thought it didn't apply to them!
We were on deck 3 with a window and half way down starboard side. Best place to be when on a rough passage. Those who booked the more expensive Arctic cabins on deck 5 had a few sleepless nights.
