We chose this cruise because we had already toured many times on the river ships and wanted to visit the Mediterranean countries. All the ports were new to us. The majority of the guides were excellent and we were given a much more comprehensive overview considering the time allowed in each port. One of the best guides was only supposed to drop us in Nice, show us the meeting place and meet us to return to the ship. She took the group into the old city after taking us through a lovely park area along the Promenade Anglaise. She made certain we knew where the markets were, the specialty shops and any particular interest of individuals.

There was a nice assortment of cities as well as smaller ports. Transportation from the ship to place we wanted to do on our own was provided.

This was a maiden voyage with the crew in training and service was superb. We especially enjoyed The Restaurant and Manfredi's. Like most cruises, you could eat yourself to death but try the afternoon tea at least once. The scones are among the best I have ever eaten and it is a relaxing interlude in a busy day.
