Not having too many cruise lines to chose from, for January, we picked MSC for the itinerary. We read reviews, good and bad, and thought we would go for it, as this would be the last time cruising in the Mediterranean. We were presently surprised. The decor was calming to the eyes, not as some said gaudy. The crew were pleasant although there was a couple of senior officers a bit " stuffy" and looked down their noses at you when spoken to. The MDR and cabin stewards were great, we did notice half way through the cruise, the MDR staff seem to slowly disappear, and were told, that the staff had been cut down, so you had the food and drinks served by the same waiter, and at times service was on the slow side. We were on the first sitting, and liked to go to the first show in the theatre, once we left before dessert, and twice went to the buffet. We had no complaints of the food, (my husband is a retired chef) both the MDR and buffet food was to our likening.
Entertainment in the theatre, and through out the ship was to our liking, we did do some ballroom dancing, in the lounges. There was different theme night too for dancing.
We only took one tour, and that was in Casablanca, the city and mosque tour. The guide was pleasant, spoke excellent English, explaining all the different sights, and giving ample time to explore on our own.
Clean, ample space, in cabin and bathroom, shampoo and body wash, and cloths line in shower. Enjoyed the balcony, spoiled me for future cruises.
