We choose this cruise because it was a slightly bigger ship than what we've cruised on before with Carnival. I must say that we were disappointed that the shops onboard didn't offer a lot to shop for. It seemed to us that the smaller ships had more to choose from than this one. It did have more dining options and foods to choose from. It also had more pools than the smaller ones. I would say that it had a lot of positives, just was bored with the shopping onboard options. I loved, loved, loved the Guys' burger joint! I am now craving a burger at home! I have noticed that since they added the cheers programs, the drinks are smaller and they don't have the souvenir Carnival plastic cup that you could purchase for a $1 more. Also I didn't see any drink specials each day. It seems that if you didn't buy the cheers' program, you basically are losing out because you are paying $10.95 and up for a mixed drink in a smaller glass. Although I did recall spending $26 for me and my hubby a drink on one occassion that I can remember. Maybe they are trying to get you to pay that $100 a day for 15 drinks???
Loved the size of the cabin. Does seem as though Carnival has changed the mattress from years ago. They are more firmer than what we are used to. They used to be soft and comfortable. However our cabin steward put 2 comforters on the mattress and it seemed to help some what. Still not like the old way, but it was better than nothing. :)
Nice clean port.
Nice port, as with the Bahamas being like they are, people pushing you to buy their items and bugging you to braid your hair.
