We loved every minute of the Hurtigruten Northern Lights cruise and would have done the full 11 day return trip had we known how fabulous it would be.

With 2 kids aged 13 and 15 we overnighted at the Hotel Oleana in Bergen to have the whole next day to sight see before embarking between 4-6pm. They happily provided a late checkout and it is a 5 minute taxi ride to the Hurtigruten terminal. Boarding was very straightforward after arriving at 5pm and having a safety demo and luggage was transferred straight to rooms so we could explore and find dinner.

We had 2 adjacent minisuites, 602 and 606, giving extras such as earlier room access, wine package, tea/coffee facilities, bathrobe/slippers to keep if you like, 2 large windows per room, excellent wifi and more space than we needed. Pack a nice bottle or two to enjoy in your cabin.
