Empress of the Seas 1/17. Pool is way too small, 3 hot tubs overrun by kids eating and drinking and no supervision. Service at breakfast one day horrible otherwise good. Food quality is just ok. The food in paid restaurant-onboard excellent though. Older ship with smaller staterooms. First ship Iwas ever on whenstill the Nordic Empress 20 plus years ago. Lots of improvement investments but mostly qualitative. So basic ship old and not up to today's standards. Entertainment was very good with good variety. Key West and Bahamas excellent ports of call. Have cruised on Princess before and feel that it is much superior and worth the extra costs. The older I get the quality issues matter more than the cost/value so will likely do more upscale in the future. On the only breakfast we had in the main dining room buffet there was no coffee, juice, water service until meal almost completed.
