I wasn't expecting much when we booked a two-night Bahamas cruise with this cruise line. Having taken roughly 10 cruises with traditional cruise lines, I expected this to be a bit rougher experience. My preconception held true, but it was not awful.

The ship itself is quite dated. The televisions are old CRT sets, the furniture in the buffet looks like it has not been updated since the ship was built more than 30 years ago and the casino is quite cramped and worn. There were a lot of negatives to our experience: the sink in our cabin leaked if the valve was not positioned just so; the cups in the buffet are all small juice cups, regardless of the time of day; there were constant announcements over the public address system throughout the cruise, most of them trying to sell things to passengers; the walls of the cabin are very thin...conversations next door in a normal voice could be clearly heard; passengers must check out pool towels poolside and return them, lest there be a charge; there is a separate card to be used for the room key, so passengers must carry both their cruise card as well as their room key; hand sanitizing stations were almost non-existent - where standard cruises push their use, the stations on this ship were off to the side and frequently empty; public restrooms are difficult to find and there aren't many of them; there are only four items on the room service menu and there is a service charge of $3; friend used the gym and said all the machines were stuck in Spanish mode and none of the attendants could help get any back to English; there was no attendance taken at the muster drill...what's the point?

We ordered sangria and found the bartender charged a higher price than listed on the menu. When we brought this to his attention, he shrugged and said there was nothing he could do.
