Sail Date: Nov 2016

This was our 7th Carnival cruise. We sailed on the Vista followed by the RCI Harmony of the Seas, BTB. I’m glad we did the Vista first or we would have been really disappointed with it after sailing on the Harmony.

First, Carnival acted like they have never handled a large crowd. They had trouble with embarkation and left 3 hours late in the dark. They also fell behind with debarkation. Come on Vista, there are 26 ships out there that are larger and do a better job handling people.

The tall atrium with glass elevators in the center of the ship is gone. The atrium is much smaller which seems to be the theme if this ship. Smaller areas but more of them which make the ship feel small overall. The Lido deck activities are not inclement weather friendly. During windy days the slides and sky rider were closed. Both pools were jammed with kids. We really miss the adults only pool in the back with a roof that could be closed during inclement weather. The water slides and sky rider are fun when they are open. The theater (Liquid Lounge) has been turned into a hybrid room, half theater and half lounge. The same huge/dumb chrome support columns are placed around the room which rendered many seats unusable. Some of the theater shows were better than the usual 35 minute shows but nothing compared to Royal Caribbean. We saw the entire Broadway show Grease on the Harmony of the Seas and Mama Mia on the Allure.

This port is always under construction.

Be prepared to have the local vultures harass you to buy their stuff. They are very aggressive.

Miami

Traffic flow is a problem.
