We had toured Canada and Alaska with Scenic previously and could not have been more pleased or impressed. We were met at the airport in Budapest and taken to the Marriott Hotel for our free night, from then on all went perfectly.

Next day we were bused to our ship, the Scenic Jade – wow. All the staff were lined up to greet us, we felt like royalty. Hot towels and cold champagne set the tone for the rest of the cruise. Our luggage was there waiting in our room which was spotlessly clean, with plenty of closet space and comfortable beds. Our butler was there to greet us and guide us through all the facilities. The electric balcony windows are perfect, keeps out the cold but not the view. Great place to sit and have a coffee and relax.

The lounges were spacious, luxurious and comfortable. Bar staff were happy and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. If you wanted a special cocktail that was not on the bar list, didn't matter, they could make it for you. Unlimited highest quality wines and spirits. Also, unlike ocean cruising, there is no photographer chasing you to take your photo every five minutes.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony Cabin

Our Cabin was spacious. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The en-suite a little small, but you don't live in an en-suite. Thick towels and ample bathroom products. There was plenty of closet space and Scenic had thought of everything - a safe, toweling gowns, slippers, small blanket for the top deck, umbrellas and even walking sticks. The bar fridge was adequate and refilled when needed. The electric window on our balcony was perfect as it was very cold most of the time, this meant you could sit out there in comfort and enjoy the passing scenery.

Port Reviews

Regensburg

Cruise down river to Weltenburg Abbey - magical.

Nuremberg

We did a tour of unfinished Nazi mega structures. Toured the museum, left feeling sad, angry and numb. Everyone should visit this place - hopefully that way it will never happen again. All the buildings in this city are relatively modern because the city was comprehensively bombed through the war.
