For our first European river cruise, we wanted to have a good cultural and gourmand experience while sight seeing the Normandy countryside of France. We chose AMA Waterways due to very high ratings on world wide river cruises. We were NOT disappointed. From the very first interaction upon embarkation, the whole experience with staff and crew was first rate and first class. The ships are immaculate and well kept. The cabins are well equipped, even as well as some 5 star hotels we've experienced. Everyone was friendly and helpful at all times. The food and wine were exceptional, and there was flexibility and good choice on the shore excursions. Every local guide did a great job on the tours. The cruise manager really was terrific, and went out of his way to make everyone comfortable and see to it that all needs were met throughout the cruise. We will definitely be cruising in the future with AMA.
