I had been wanting to go to Europe for a long time and when my in-laws asked me if I wanted to go on a river cruise with them I didn't hesitate. The staff from Viking Freya meet us at the airport and transported us to the ship in time for lunch. The ship was very nice and the public places, especially the lounge were comfortable. I liked the Aquavit Terrace and the upper deck with the shuffle board, mini gold and chess game. The staff was very friendly and helpful, excellent service. The food was superb, I particularly enjoyed breakfast with the omelet station and the pastries. Lunch and dinner were also very good. We were given detailed information by the program director of the next day activities and a itinerary was left in our room every evening. The included shore excursions were well organized and interesting. The tour guides were friendly and took the time to answer questions. The highlights on board the ship for me were the taste of Austria dinner and entertainment and the Apple Strudel and Kaiseschmaren demonstrations. Our cabin, although a bit small, was very comfortable with ample storage and a fridge to store the goodies we had bought on the sightseeing tours. I would definetly go again.
