My wife and I wanted to try a river cruise. We have visited Paris a few times and we wanted to be able to visit a few different European cities and countries in one trip. We booked a cruise on the Viking Freya from Budapest to Nuremberg. This was a memorable trip. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The dining was outstanding (5 stars); they were able to accommodate our different diets and allergies. The staff and service were first rate (5*). Special kudos to the chef, maitre d', and the wait staff, who took care of all of our needs. The shore excursions were entertaining and informative, and we were able to wander around on our own in a few of the cities. The relaxed and intimate atmosphere on the ship enabled us to meet some great people who we now consider our friends. We are now deciding on where to go next year on Viking.
