We have always wanted to see Alaska, especially the glaciers, so this seemed the perfect opportunity. Our embarkation went smoothie and we found our stateroom easily and we were thrilled with what we found. Unpacking was easy and there was room for everything. The shower was a bit small, but manageable. We had a balcony and it made the trip even better. Dinning was unbelievable. We were treated royally in the dinning room, while was could also kick back and enjoy the more casual buffet. The food was great which ever way we went. If there was a downside to anything, it was because there was so much entertainment and activity that we couldn't keep up and missed a great deal. What we did see was first rate and kept our toes taping or our sides splitting from all the talent and humor. As for the service we received, I can't say enough good things. The staff was always upbeat and helpful It seemed as if they were always around, and yet weather you saw them first thing in the morning or just before bed, attitudes were always positive. I would like to point out a few of the dinning staff that went above and beyond to make our trip a memorable one. Jr. waiter, Rovon Simoes: waiter, Charles Elona, and Head waiter Mr. Erno. They were great. As with the onboard entertainment, there was way more available to do on shore than we could stretch or time to fit. What we did see was beautiful, educational and inspiring. We would love to do this cruise again, I hope it can happen.
I was very delighted with our balcony room, which gave us a wonderful view of the landscape and glaciers that were abundant. The room, while not spacious, was comfortable and suited our needs throughout the cruise. Our Stewardess, Alona, did an excellent job of keeping the room clean and refreshed, and she was especially helpful whenever we needed anything.
We used our time in Skagway in order to see the town and take pictures. The town is very picturesque and was filled with many things to photograph and just enjoy.
