Sail Date: Aug 2015

I just joined CC after years of reviewing information on the site. Thought I should go back and post some information from my cruising experiences; hence the long delay between cruise date and posting date.

The ports and excursions on this trip were spectacular. The highlights were St. Petersburg Hermitage museum (quickly run into the square before the tour starts for a picture because you won't get any time to do this otherwise), a bike ride in Skagen, Denmark which included a short hike on the beach to put your feet in both the North and Baltic seas at the same time, and especially the flight to Moscow for a full-day experience in that city which included the Red Square, a Kremlin museum (exceeded expectations and a definite "don't miss"), a subway ride (amazing artwork underground), and a dinner at an upscale restaurant with caviar and blinis and, of course, beef stroganoff (nom nom).

I would have given this 5 stars, but there were too many unruly and unsupervised kids to make this cruise fully enjoyable and relaxing. Several people had made complaints, but the CL didn't seem to do much about it. Hopefully, RCI has instituted appropriate procedures to deal with this issue by now. The entertainment quality was not that great, We went on this cruise for the ports and excursions, so the lackluster evening entertainment was not an issue for us.

Port Reviews

Harwich

Getting to this port was not easy. It was a long train ride from London. I think RCI has moved to a new preferred port in England.
