This was my second river cruise on Viking. In 2015 I did the Paris to Normandy trip on the Rinda. The Lofn was equally well appointed and the and the staff as wonderfully attentive. The itinerary of Basel to the North Sea provided many interesting stops and local guides both well informed and personable. The onboard lectures were very well done by local talent.

The food was excellent with a good variety of choices. The staff met with one member of our party with gluten and lactose issues and prepared personal meals to accommodate her needs.

The one area I think needs improving is the system of rafting with other river boats at docking. The boats are mere inches apart and if you have a veranda it is unusable. This happened to us for the better part of two days.

Veranda Stateroom

Cabin B

The cabins are small, as with most river cruises, but very well appointed. Viking makes use of every inch of storage space. The 110v outlets are convenient for US travelers charging phones, using curling irons, etc.

Beds were comfortable and staff kept everything clean and tidy.
